I have a sprint evo 3d, hboot 1.5 s-on, the phone was attache to someones acount i bought it with them saying it was new, is there anyway to wipe the phone so ican hook it up, or would it being rooted clear it out.

If the phone belong to someone and it was on the Sprint network, that person will have to have the phone released to you, you can have then call and say they sold it to you and Sprint will release the ESN

I have contacted them , but yet no response, i couldnt beat the deal i got it for but messing around with it id really like to use it instead of the evo shift. Ive tried rooting the phone but havent succeeded yet.

You won't be able to activate it unless you get the ESN released.
