Root [CDMA] [Rooted] STILL getting text msg notifications after disabling

I have a rooted 3vo running on the synergy rom 2.3.3. For some reason, I'm getting a weird notification. Just shows up as I have a msg when I receive a text msg. I was using handcent but i deleted that and I still get the notification. I know it's coming from the default msg app, but not sure how disable it. Anyone have an idea of what it could be? It's killing me to receive two notifications(when using handcent). I already disabled notifications altogether from the default msg app. :confused::confused::confused::confused:

TIA

In Titanium, it's a green link called "Messages 3.0.211...blah blah".

In /system/app, I would guess it's Mms.apk.

Are you using handcent popup?

You're deleting the message via popup and then receiving a duplicate message in the handcent app itself?

If that's it, I think its a handcent issue, as I've been chasing it for a week. I even switched ROM. I was using Supra and then switched to Senseless. No improvement.

I emailed dev yesterday.

That's not the case here. Thanks though. Mine is posting a message even with that disabled.
not sure if this is relevant here. but fwiw, on my last phone it required a more aggressive disabling to make it stop. the sequence was something like;
- go to applications manager in settings and delete data from the stock messinger
- go to stock messenger, and turn off all notifications
- reboot phone before you received a text

I WAS using handcent and had the issue, but uninstalled handcent and STILL have the same issue.

Just tried, but for some reason, I can't even find the stock message icon anymore. I went into "all apps" in my manage apps settings and saw a messagecs app so I just deleted defaults, but still getting the same notification. erghhhhh!
