Root [CDMA] [Rooted] wifi tether connection issues

I have trouble getting the wireless tether to work. When I start the wireless tether, there will be an error. In the log, on step failed. Activating WiFi interface...failed. Is there any way I can fix this?
I even tried barnacle, but there will be no internet access on my computer. I even tried the wireless tether beta 6 version, my computer was able to connect to it and has internet access. But I couldn't browse any website. When I turned it off, it would say "unable to start tethering, is your phone rooted?" and "you phone is in an unknown state right now, please restart."

Rooted, granted superuser while start wireless tether up. Stock rom and everything.
 
If you're not paying for the extra monthly charges for Wifi Tether, it is not supposed to work. If you're not rooted, WiFi tether won't work unless you use PDAnet or Easy tether and that's only if you use an USB chord. You can use the trial versions, then purchase the app for it to fully work. If you're rooted, I think the only way for it to work is if you use Barnacle Wifi tether
 
what root method did you use?

if you used htc method, wireless tether may have issues, but barnacle works

Yeah I used HTC way to root it. Wireless tether and Barnacle worked for a day and next day suddenly are not working anymore. I am able to connect to Barnacle but there's no internet access.

Honestly, I would try something other than the stock ROM. I had problems like that right after I installed DroidWall, which was blocking wifi tether from accessing the internet. But if you don't have DroidWall, I'd really recommend another ROM.
