Root [CDMA] Rooting on 2.17.651.5 Help

I've been looking around on the internet for a while since I got the OTA update last week and can't seem to find a way to root my phone after receiving the update. Do I have to wait until someone finds a way or is there a way around it? I really want to put MIUI on my Evo 3D, I had it on my OG Droid and loved it. Any help is greatly appreciated.
 
Alright, unlocked bootloader through the HTC Unlock method, now lol how do I install a custom rom?

Nevermind still gotta go through that thread :)
 
So apparently I really messed up, and now I'm stuck in MIUI bootloop. I have no way to get back into Android.. I can't even use my phone at all. I remove the battery, put back in then hold down volume down and power. I get into the menu and choose recovery but it just boots back into the MIUI thing. How can I get back to android? I'm really worried here :(:confused:
 
Are you sure you flashed the recovery Image, and are you sure you made a Nandroid backup ??

Yes.

Pull the battery out, count to 10, put it back in. Hold Vol down + power until you see the bootloader pop up. Go to recovery using the vol keys and push power. Recovery will load, you can now restore a backup. I recommend you clear the cache and dalvik before you do it.

I also recommend you get used to Sense based ROMs and flashing them before you jump onto the AOSP wagon :) CleanROM is my personal favorite. Although a number of people here like the Xperia ROM, which also looks quite good.
 
I followed the htcdev site almost sucessfully. After I try to flash the Unlock_code.bin my phone doesn't go to the unlock bootloader disclaimer asking if Im sure I want to unlock the boot loader. I havn't found any info on this and I have tired it many times. Any help would be appreciated for a first time poster :)
