Root [CDMA] Trying to do the HTC method on Mac?!

Sorry if this was posted earlier...

I am somewhat knowledgable about rooting, I rooted my evo 4g without issue, but I am stumped trying to root the 3d on my mac!

I get to the portion where I open a terminal and try to locate my downloads and I get a bash message that the file is not found. I made a folder on my desktop with all of the downloads. Please help!

I don't have a mac but do know that there are issues with macs unzipping downloads, is your browser doing this?
 
Thanks, maybe I will have better luck on a different browser, I used chrome before. The file doesn't unzip, I do it myself. I just can't get the commands and prompts to work.


I googled rooting 3d on mac and I found a thread on XDA about it.
 
From what I have read with snow leopard you can install virtual machine and root that way. Easiest thing would be to dual boot with windows or linux
