Root CDMA USCC Desire Help

blanch44

Lurker
Hi I just got my htc desire and came from using the tp2 which I flashed multiple times a week and very well understood the windows mobile operating system but now i'm looking to start flashing my CDMA desire but have realized there is very little out there and I have no idea on how to flash and android phone. So can someone please point me in the right direction to the best ROM and a guide on how to flash an USCC Desire. Thank you!

If you would use the search function of this forum you would see that there are many threads already started for the US Cellular CDMA Desire and that they either cover the wanting of the Froyo update to how to flash the CDMA Desire, and as I have told a few, there is no rom for the CDMA desire and unless a CDMA developer makes one there will be none!!!! The only rom you will find here is for the GSM Desire and they will not work at all!!!

Root with unrevoked - it is the way to go. You can also use something like Rom Manager from the android market to get Roms that will work with the BravoC (CDMA) version of the Desire. Just be sure to google the Rom first to see if it works with CDMA.

You WILL void any warranty you have by rooting so you had better hope that nothing goes wrong with the phone after you root or you will be stuck with a useless phone!!!

True. Warranty will be voided, but rooting is not illegal (not that you said it is illegal). You own the phone, you can void the warranty on the phone. Just giving legit information.

All I said is that if the phone is rooted and it has something go wrong with it US cellular will not warranty it at all and you will be stuck with a useless phone, I could care less really because I have Froyo and I get all my updates from HTC not some carrier, I was just putting out the warning to those that may not think about it first or do not know about it!!!! Just a simple heads up, nothing more or nothing less!!!!

Welcome to the forums, blanch44!

I've moved this thread to your phone's rooting subforum. Between this and the user advice, you should be ok.

Don't sweat searching too badly - our site is very big and it takes a little while to get used to. We're here to help, if you can't find what you need, send a private message (PM) to anyone with a red or green name and we'll steer you to the right areas.

Our site policies are in my sig should you or anyone ever need to refer to them.

That all said - I predict you're going to love your Android way more than your previous phones.

Cheers!
