Root [CDMA] Wifi tether

I just rooted and htc unlocked my phone last night, and did the wire trick to gain S-OFF simply to be able to wifi tether my 3vo to my Nexus 7, but come to find out today when I try to use it I can not get it to work.

I am using stock ics rom. Tried the beta versions of Wifi tether, tried the different settings that people suggest, and the barnacle thing but keep getting the errors "starting softap... failed" and "activating WiFi interface...failed"

Can someone offer a fix for this, I just want to tether to my nexus without jumping through any more hoops

in barnacle - Go into Settings - click Skip WPA supplicant....then reboot and try again.

I fixed this issue. The older "fixed" wifi tether did not allow the option of generic ics for the set up which is what I needed. Thanks for the help.
