cell standby battery drain when i dont have 3g support on tablet

hi there, the battery monitor app is showing huge proportions of the battery drain attributed to the cell standby, i have stock jellybean.

i found many references to this problem on the web. my issue is however that my tablet has only wifi, no cell hardware. is this misreporting by the app, or are there parts of the cpu that still use juice for cell standby , when there is no cell hardware?

Which battery app are you using? Try GSAM Battery Monitor, out of all the available options on Play, I've generally found that to be the best.

It could be mis reporting, or it could be lumping all radio activity (WiFi as well) in with cell standby. Is there a separate entry in the stats for WiFi?

thanks for the idea! i was using the stock Battery monitor in settings.

Alas the GSAM also reported a cell radio consuming 90%.there is a seperate entry for wifi 5%. If i could determine if this was just a display issue, i would be satisfied.

But how? I heard other devices were calculating the cell standby incorrectly 10 times to much. So in that case instead of 90% it should be 9%, but on a wifi only tablet that should be 0%.

are there any other apps , like hardware information tools that can list if there really is cell phone hardware in my wifi only tablet?
