Cellular Reception Issues

Just bad luck or is something up. This is my second phone now that after having for a few months have started to have reception issues. Meaning 1x, 3G, 4G... Certain areas I know I should have 3G and am seeing 1x a lot... Areas I know I normaly have 4G am seeing 3G signals... When I see this, sometimes I can turn off and back on mobile network, and sometimes I have to pull my battery.

Anybody seen issues like this or have any other advice other then the dreaded factory reset? Again this is the second phone I am now seeing with the same issues. My original one did the same thing.

Sounds like the issue you're having is what I have with my Inc4G too. There are certain parts of my house where the 4G signal turns "iffy" and I will get a 3G signal when I KNOW the 4G signal should be fine since it was there most other times. Worse, the data may just "blank" out completely and the "Mobile network" in Settings will show "Disconnected" and no amount of switching that button "Off" and "On" will change it from that "Disconnected" state. Sometimes doing that "Airplane mode" On-then-Off cycling may jumpstart the data signal back, but more often than not it doesn't work. A power cycle gets the signal back for me (never had to do a battery pull myself), but that is very time-consuming.

I and others have already discussed a similar topic in another, earlier board http://androidforums.com/htc-droid-incredible-4g/685173-4g-signal-discussion.html

You can read my post there about a possible solution/method for getting a data signal back by using the LTE OnOff - HTC Thunderbolt app by Cunning Logic. I also use it to retrieve the 4G signal when only 3G is showing up in that area I know has 4G signal.

This app has consistently worked for me in retrieving at least a 3G signal when the "Mobile network" has entered - and refuses to budge from - the "Disconnected" state. And it recovers the 4G signal for me when the phone starts getting 3G in a normally 4G area. Since I started using that app, I have not had to do the time-consuming power cycle or the more drastic battery pull. You can give it a try to see if it solves the issue you are having with your Inc4G, but, of course, YMMV. Good luck!

I'm using LTE OnOff (thanks mom) to turn off 4G because even though I get 4-5 bars on 4G it drops out and switches to 3G on a regular basis.
