I don't normally write product reviews, but Samsung pestered me to review my recent purchase of a Galaxy Tab 2 7.0. So, I wrote what I thought was a thoughtful review (I'd post it here, but Samsung didn't keep it for me to edit; just trashed it because it "did not meet [their] posting guidelines" and said I could log in and write a new one.)
I wondered why I was one of the few that gave it three stars while almost everyone was giving it five. Now I understand. My review was mostly positive, but I said the memory management, forcing program data into main memory instead of the external SD card was "dumb." I compared it, mostly favorably, to my BlackBerry Playbook, which I like a lot, but does not run the Android programs I rely on (yes, it runs many Android programs, just not two that I really need). I also complained about lack of HDMI support.
Apparently they only want product reviews that don't compare their product with others and don't point out dumb design issues. I've learned something about whether one can trust reviews on a manufacturer's web site.
