Help Cerberus Anti-Theft Doesn't Work Without An Internet Connection

The app description says that Cerberus works, even without internet connection but when I turn off my Wi-Fi & 3G and try to use some of the functions on the website from my laptop, it says: Problem communicating with your device. Also, I always have to log back in after I hide and show the app in the app drawer. My Galaxy Nexus is rooted and I'm currently running Jelly Bean. Anyone know why I can't use any of Cerberus's functions without an active internet connection?

The web interface connects via data only. In the absence of a data connection you can issue commands via SMS. There is a Cerberus client app in the Play Store that can issue the above commands as well as sending them using a standard messaging app. You can also whitelist specific phone numbers that can issue commands without the password.

Unfortunately, I've found that location reliability is seriously affected by the lack of a data connection, but this appears to be unrelated to Cerberus, as other apps are similarly affected.

Guys, I do not live in the US and still I would like to use Cerberus.

I tried sending SMS commands to my number using the following rule:
+(country code)(local code)(phone number)

But it does not respond.

Is it possible to send SMS from Cerberus to a cellphone number not registered in the US?

SMS is SMS. I can't imagine that you being outside of the US should make a difference.

Although I would make sure you have nothing else in the message except for the commands.

Agree with others, based on all my testing and research thus far, this app is up there with the best...I'm in Canada and it works perfectly here. Keep trying and I am sure you'll be successful.

I actually use Tasker for this and it works really well for me. I send myself a text with a specific string of text. When tasker sees this it turns on my phone/tablet's GPS, gives it up to 2 minutes for the GPS to lock in. Gets the coordinates and replies to my SMS with the coordinates.

Tasker replaces about a dozen apps that I have. But not exactly easy to figure out the complicated functions. Luckily, there are lots of folks out there who uses it so its easy to find profiles to copy.

Hi. I have a Cerberus account installed in my phone. I've erroneously turned off my phone while in locked mode. Now it is under fake shutdown. I can't recover it now from the website. Everytime I try to do so, a message appears saying "Problem communicating with your device". What should I do?
