Change LG G3 soft Buttons

Guest
The Lollipop "upgrade", forced on everyone, changed the LG G3 "Home, Return and Multi Window" buttons to these awful geometric shapes namely a Triangle, Square and Circle. Very clever of Google to exert such effort into "improving the functionality" of this phone. These new buttons don't even look like what they do. The old "home" button looked like a house. Now it's a plain square. Not even a shaded square. I have to remember every time what the buttons do. Needless to say, I despise the ugly buttons. I sent the phone to LG to try and revert it but no luck. Maniacal Google just put it on my phone again. Is there any way to change these hideous buttons to some that are nicer and don't make me angry every time I look at them?

There is no way to change the Square, Triangle and Circle in the phone itself. I asked for help but I don't know what you guys are talking about at all.

Via rooting there are apps, themes and mods to change them. There's even a set with the playstation button icons :thumbsupdroid:

I have no experience with rooting at all. I had to look up what it means. Obviously all of you know everything there is to know about it. I just want to change three buttons, not spend my life downloading software and stumbling around trying to figure out all this stuff. Maybe the best thing is to get an Iphone and not be forced to the whims of the megalomaniacs at Google. I understand that Apple "allows" its users to skip upgrades! What a unique idea. I knew what Lollipop did to the G3 and tried like hell to refuse it but Verizon admitted finally that eventually it will download regardless of the wishes of the "owner" of the phone. In reality, we own nothing at all. Google owns the world and does whatever Google wants to do. I'm fed up with it.

No, you are right. Rooting the phone is probably the only way. I'm just ticked off. I'll spend some time and hack into it. It would be great to delete Cookie Jam and Panda Pop anyway and it's the only way to defeat Google. Thanks.

To defeat Verizon*
I understand your frustration and it's justified, but Google isn't at fault really. Lg decided to use that style for the buttons, and Verizon is the one that forced the update on you, not Google. Unless you have a Nexus device Google has almost zero influence on when/how/if you get updates.

Since you've stated the root/mod scene w/Android is uncharted territory,if you choose to do so,I highly recommend checking out some tutorials on You-Tube &,at least at 1st,avoid deleting anything & instead "Freeze" the unwanted apps.
It accomplishes the same exact result & makes things a lot easier if by some chance, you need to revert to an unrooted/out-of -box state.
Once rooted, look around in the GOOGLE PLAY STORE for apps that'll freeze other apps.
Titanium Back-Up & SD Maid are two that are quite popular.
They are powerful tools, read up before using either one & don't be afraid to ask around if you have any questions.
