Root Change Low Battery Notification?

Android Enthusiast
Just wondering if there is a way to change the low battery notification on the LG Motion. I have a 30 second snippet of a song for my phone ringtone & I don't need to hear that entire thing every time my battery is low. I have searched but I don't see a way to change it to a simple beep.

Anyone know if there is a way?

TIA!

make sure song is in. ogg format. and that it's the same size as one u trying to replace. also for original rename ending to. bak so u can revert back. the low battery sound is in system/media

Ah sorry I misunderstood a bit. If you want to follow the advice of DoomCrue and adanmex, then you need an app like root file explorer to copy the file to the system location.

If that's too difficult to figure out, I might recommend just installing a low battery alert app that allows you to choose the audio file you want.

I can do it with instruction. If someone believes in "pay it forward", as I do, then hopefully they'll be kind enough to type up a quick "how to" on this.

I am not a developer nor am I techie enough to tackle this on my own.

I'm an insurance agent & I volunteer in my community helping people understand their coverage, letters from their insurance provider, bills from healthcare providers, etc. None of them are my clients & I'm not making any money volunteering my time. I do this because insurance is confusing for most people...so I pay it forward. :)

Do you have the tone you want already
If so is it in .ogg,?
Do you have an app like root browser, file expert, root explorer that will allow you to navigate through sysyem?
Do you want a copy if the stock notification?

Incase you do. Here is the stock sound.
Get an app like i mentioned
And copy the new file.
Then go to the path mentioned above
Paste the new file
Reboot
Should be that easy

So I used root browser and followed the path listed above. LowBattery.oog is already in that folder. I played it with Google Play Music and it is the same notification sound you provided.

So if it's already there why is my ringtone playing when I have a low battery?

That simply does not make sense...very frustrating!

I would have no clue. How did you change tbe sound to the music to begin with
Did you use an app?

No. I put a song ringtone snippet in a ringtone folder on my SD card. Then I went to it & selected "set as ringtone".

The only times I hear that ringtone is when someone calls me or when I have a low battery.

Stumped...never had an issue like this with my Epic & I did all kinds of crazy things with ROMs & themes on that device!

Awesome glad you figured it out.

I didn't figure it out. My battery hit 15% and the new CALL ringtone I selected started to play.

So for some reason my phone simply will NOT play the low battery notification when I have a low battery. Instead it plays the f###ing ringtone!

I do appreciate your help though...but this is maddening!

I installed a low battery notifier app.

When my battery hit 15% it went off.

So did the ringtone for my phone.

*sigh* I give up. :(
