Some people don’t like standard ringtones, Here will show you how to change the ringtone on your Motorola ATRIX 4G. According to the below step to change ringtone easily.


  1. Open the Main menu by clicking the MENU option.
  2. Select Settings.
  3. Select Sound option.
  4. Click Phone ringtone.
  5. To select the ringtone that you want to change, for example, find the ringtone: clear sky.
  6. Select OK.
  7. To find HOME key to exit.

this is some what related. The notification sound I pick for when I get a new email keeps changing. In the yahoo email I went to settings and set it up but it keeps defaulting to the notification tone that is selected in the main settings of the phone. Any idea how to keep that from happening? The problem is only with yahoo. My Gmail notification tone I picked hasn't changed.

1. find the "song/file" you want to use via the default media player
2. long press the song/file when the pop-up menu displays, select "Set as ringtone".

...or, for individual contact:

1. Connect to phone using Moto Phone Portal
2. Select desired contact
3. Click "edit"
4. Select (song/file) from pull-down list, and save change

So I got the yahoo tone to stick. I ended up moving the notification sound from the location it was at to the folder labeled notifications lol. Once it was their it was good to go and has not given me any issues since.
