Help change Storage partition-Android 4.4.2

Hello everyone,

I have a tablet with android 4.4.2, & the storage repartitions is as follow : 5 GB for system & 3 for internal..
now I have a 3 GB left for system & 100 MB for storage, can I SOMEHOW use the system storage for regular data storage (movies)??

thank you.

Basically, nope. If the device was rooted, might be able to something with App2SD.

Is this some no-name cheapo thing, with no information whatsoever about it?

No it's a branded tablet, but anyway it's rooted & I don't want to move apps into an SD or use an SD card: as i said I want to see if i can move data into system storage..

thank you.

^this.

I have repartitioned the storage on a device, but it's a very device-specific process and by no means without risk (the method I used could have irretreivably bricked the device if I'd made a mistake). It's not something I would even suggest trying unless you know exactly what you are doing.

Titanium Backup (at least the Pro version) has an option to convert a user app to a system app. You could try that, but at your own risk - I'd personally take a full system backup before trying, just in case (only an option if you have a custom recovery). Don't do this if you think you might receive a system update at some point (though to be fair official system updates on a rooted device are very much something you do at your own risk anyway, but this would make the result less predictable: at best you'd very likely lose the apps you moved, worse could happen).

So @Hardron are you saying I can move some space from system storage to internal storage???
No. I'm saying that doing that is very risky, and that unless someone has developed the tools to do it for your device there is no way. The method I used a few years ago would not work for your device.

What I was saying is that Titanium Backup (or at least the paid version - I've not used free for 6 years so don't know what that includes) has an option to move apps to system, but it should be used with care and understanding and I do not guarantee success. And that you should do a ROM backup before messing with the system in any way: if I had a device that was rooted but didn't have a custom recovery, so cannot back up the ROM, I would be very reluctant to modify the system partition in any way, including trying to move apps into it. And if I were in that position I'd make sure I had the tools to reflash the device in case something went wrong (which would incidentally mean total data loss, so again, back up everything you can before trying anything).

Put simply, I'm saying forget about resizing the partitions, and make sure you know how you'll recover your device if you try moving apps to system and it goes wrong.
