Changing carriers

I've seen the threads about taking your phone outside the country, but I'm wondering if it's possible to take my rooted verizon G'Nex to Sprint or any other US carrier? Or am I stuck having to buy an unlocked GSM phone?

you can only use the VZW Nexus on VZW. Sprint only works on Sprint.
GSM is the only one you have a little freedom on.

You can use it on any US GSM carrier. Verizon and Sprint are CDMA. Of the top 4, At&t and T-Mobile would be your choices for GSM.

No Sprint and Verizon use different CDMA bands. A Verizon phone pretty much just works on Verizon.
