Root Changing my revovery help!

I have been trying for quite some time to change my recovery to Amon but have been 100% unsuccessful. I am currently on RA 2.3 and every time I try to change the recovery with the PC36IMG file it just skips over asking me to update.... and goes back to fastboot.

Additional info is..... I have recovery, I am S-on (used to be s-off), I am HBOOT 6.17.0001, I am on CM7 and I can flash some things but not others.

I would like to also get back to s-off someday but have been 100% unsuccessful at that to date. Please help. Thanks!

with an s on it will not change recoverys. it must be s off. if you do not know how to reroot just let me know.

Ok I understand that..... but I have tried everything possible following the gingerbread guides plus tons of other tips from the forums and have been unsuccessful at re-rooting to s-off.

When I run revolutionary it tells me what do you think you are trying to do s-off, you are already s-off.... which in fact I am not.

When I run unrevoked 3 it says running root...... and never changes from there.

When I run unrevoked 3.21 it acts as if it is going through the whole process and then just sits on waiting for root.

yeah unfortunately, i'm not sure how to change your situation. you have a higher hboot then what unrevoked is accustomed to so i doubt you will be able to get it to work. you can try to reroot with revolutionary, but again since your hboot did not change, i'm not sure that it will work again either.
