Root Changing Original SuperUser

SavageRobot

Hello,

I have rooted my Z1 yesterday using VRoot which is a chinese root tool so a lot of guess work but I got there. My question is though, the SuperUser installed is a Chinese one so obviously when things request Root permissions it is all in Chinese. I have downloaded SuperSU off Play store but I cant seem to be able to use that instead of the one I got with Rooting. Can this be done? I have tried allowing SuperSU root access then disabling Chinese version but then it looses Root access.

Speculating as I've not got the phone yet, but if you clear defaults of the SuperUser via Settings -> Apps, next time you have an app request root, is there an option for you to select which SU app you want to use?

No, did think of that but unfortunately the clear defaults is greyed out. I have tried clearing cache, data, force stop and disable (the only options on this app). Guess I will just have to wait until an English Root using SU is released and re-root. Thanks Anyway.

Brilliant thanks mate. Ill Keep looking and thinking too. I have just though perhaps there would be something in Clockwork Mod. But I have downloaded it and see that there are no Sony phones supported. Coming from Samsung I wouldn't know but is there another app to use instead of this on Sony?

Like yourself, this will be my first Sony device (HTC & Nexus devices previously) so I'm still in the "reading through" stages at the moment, getting to grips with how Sony do things/tools etc.

By clockworkmod, do you mean ROM Manager? Not sure if there would be anything there, but from what I can gather, you'd need to unlock your bootloader for that to work properly anyway.
