Help Changing phone's avatar and syncing some but not all contacts

For the first one, if you didn't root or change your ROM, what you do is:
create a contact with your number and pin a picture to that contact. That's what I had to do. It works like after you reboot your phone. IDK, it's weird. It might not work right away, but then one day you'll be sending a text and you'll see your face there
When syncing contacts, all your contacts sync. I know when you delete the contact, it SHOULD ask you if you want to delete it from the web server, or something similar to that. If it doesn't then oh. Guess all your contacts are going to be synced. Sorry.
