Root changing ROMs

Alright, this seems like it could be super easy and I'm just missing something. So I've changed ROMs about 5 times, but I've always done it through rom manager, but I also see you can put them on the root of your sd card and install from there like I did with dads eris.

So, do you have to do it that way if you download it on the computer? I always downloaded via ROM manager, so this could be just a dumb question.

Thanks ahead of time!

Yep. Download to the PC, move to the SD Card via USB. If using SPRecovery, you MUST put it in the root and rename it update.zip

ClockworkMod you can put it in anywhere on the card (though root is easiest) and you don't have to rename it.

Thanks! Yeah I use clockwork mod for switching roms, and great to know, thank you so much, I want to test more roms, I just got destracted developing haha :)
