Root changing roms

Newbie
hello wanting to change rom and kernal but really dont want to loose any of my apps is there a way??? was going to try mikg 3.xx but hoping the battery will not go too fast

+1 to titanium backup.
also get the pro key so that you can do batch backups and restore. titanium backup is a must for root users in my opinion. just make sure that when you go and do a restore to not restore system data. system data will contain bits and pieces of the old rom and will conflict with the new rom.

Speaking of TB, does anyone remember a while back (on here or xda) where someone posted how to freeze apps via terminal? I wanna say it was just adding a .bak to the file, but I'm thinking there must be more to it...?

Personally, there are a lot of apps that I'd like to know *exactly* what they are doing ;) but I don't. :/
