Help Changing SD cards

Hi all, new here so go easy please.

Right when I want to change my sd card what is the best way?? Do I connect my phone to the computer and copy all the files its shows on my device to a file in my documents, I then remove my sd card and replace with my new one, I then reconnect my phone with my new sd card inside, go to the file that I saved copy all the files and paste to the phone (if that makes sense)

Yes, that's the way to do it, unless you're rooted and running a custom rom in which case it's a little different.
