Root Changing the boot animation

What all do I need to do to change the boot animation. I have one I have tried but I can't seem to get it to work. The phone boots up and all, but I just get a black screen :/

It might be the image sizes

I got it :).
I saw someone else made one half way through my build, tried his but it dropped framerate in the beginning. I have one that doesn't, working out kinks in the images. I will post it tomorrow for you guys :).

Not too shabby for me first time doing this I think.

boot2.zip

Here you guys go. Flash via Rom Toolkit.
I don't have a way to compile it into a flashable zip, sorry it's so big.
It doesn't drop framerate like the other guys did, which was my main issue.
Send me feed back, things you want change, etc.
Thanks guys.

I always wondered about changing the boot animation, the way the android words keep glowing, vaguely remind me of Windows OS loading screen...

I used Rom Toolbox to add a new boot animation. However, on boot up it starts playing the stock animation then switches to the new one I installed. Do I need to delete the old one? If so , how? Also, I thought that by changing the boot animation that it would get rid of the metro pcs logo from popping up during boot but it still pops up.

You mean the green droid is the boot img you cant change that is the logo

When I boot the first thing that pops up is a white screen with the Metro PCS logo. Then a black screen showing the green android. Then the new animation that I just installed. I thought that by installing the new animation that it would replace those first two screens.
