Root changing the default texting HELP :(

HELLO and im new here rooted my phone about 4 days ago and i wanted to know how to change the texting on my phone?? I KNOW there are apps to changing the texting but i dnt want an app cause i like the lg esteems texting but i wish to make the bubbles different smaller and possibly change the color i see people do it i wanna know how a step guide on what to have and to do in order to change my default texting and not use another texting app. please HELPPPPP ! ASAP :(:(:(:confused:

Changing the bubbles is actually easy..To change the bubbles You need 7Zip and the MMS.apk, Find 2-4 style images youd like to use for the bubbles, right click the MMS.apk after finding the images you want to use and select 7zip then open archive. Then select the Res folder then the drawable folder. Youll see 4 images at the top that start with balloon_bg_ , rename your iamges to match the name of those top 4. Then drag and drop your images into the "open arhive" so it over writes the original ones. Then close out of that and put the mms.apk in your system app folder nad reboot and youre done!
 
omg thank you ohhh sooooo much !! and what if i want to resize the bubbles? like skinnier not so huge only two bubbles show on the screen
 
im trying to black out the background for the mms, but idk which file it is that i need to edit.

Yeah you want to make them *kinda* small. And they'll resize themselfs as needed for more text. But oyu want to use a program like GIMP (free) or PhotoShop (Costs $$) or some other type of program that supports transparency. MicroSoft paint doesnt. Once you hit save with MS Paint youll lose any transparency the image had.

Do you want just a stock MMS but with a black background? Or themeing it yourself?....Honestly thats more of a pain due to that background being an XML and not an Image. Either way easiest way is to find my theme BeastCandy and use that MMS as your base since the background is already blacked out.
 
Dang, I thought it was an image i can just edit. I'm using the ICK theme and I wanted to change the MMS around a bit.
 
okay i got the mms i want everything the same the only thing i want different in my texting it the bubbles gray and purple and not so fat do i just copy everything i had from the old mms and just change the bubbles ?

Just swipe the MMS apk from Beast Candy then right click the one from ICK and select 7Zip>open archive>res>drawable-hpdi then swap all the images from that folder on ICk into the same folder from the MMS apk you swiped from BeastCandy and youll have the ICK theme with a black background ;)

Just resize the images you have then put them into the drawable folder again like you did the first time. ;)
 
okay wait im los i have everything but i dont have the bubbles lol sorry i suck at this i cant find a purple bubble i like the gray bubble just i want a purple one instead of blue lol i dont know how to make a bubble or how to do that sorry if im frustrating you
 
I think you might've frustrated him;) jk, he's probably making an official guide, if he's still online. We like to help people here, so I'd just wait, he'll come back :)

Yea you'll have to decompile the apk and change it to white
