Help Changing the recent apps button

[JAy3001]

I don't use the recent apps button and in the past I have configured it so that it acts as an option button instead.

But for the life on me I cannot find this option on my Nexus 6 running Marshmallow! Has this option been removed or was it never on the Nexus devices?

I don't think that's a feature of stock android. It's possible that whatever device you were using before had that option in their custom version of android. On the nexus, I don't think it can be done without rooting and using a custom rom or installing the xposed framework and a module such as gravity box.

A non-root option may exist in a custom launcher downloadable from the play store, but I don't know which one (if any) would include that feature. My nexus 6 is rooted but I am running the stock firmware and the stock launcher.

Thank you for the reply Brain. My old phone was HTC One X+ so I guess that was a tweak they had. Shame tho..
