Help charge drops sometimes right after unplugging

i know this is probably part of the charging process so that it doesn't overcharge. the way i charge is that i plug it in before going to sleep and unplugging the next morning. so it may have finished charging when i was still sleeping. sometimes when i use the phone before unplugging, the charge does drop a bit but the light will still be green. i think that is normal though i don't like it. but other times when i unplug it after making sure that it was 100% first, the charge drops to low 90's and sometimes 89% within 10-20 minutes. is there any way to prevent this from happening?
