If it's randomly turning off, I would go to the Verizon store and get a replacement before I rooted it. It has a 1 year warranty. If they find out you've rooted the phone (which voids the warranty) they won't give you a replacement. But do note that if you get a replacement from Verizon, it'll be a refurbished one. One that was sold then returned if someone didn't like it or something. Another thing you can try is a factory reset. It'll wipe all your data but restore it to it's original config.
