Charger & accessory recommendations?

I just picked up an A500 and now I'm looking for accessory recommendations. I don't know if everyone has this issue or not but the AC charger my A500 came with is 2 feet long. I've had to pull out an extension cord just to use it while plugged it. Obviously once I get all my apps setup and such I won't need it plugged in except to charge it but still 2 feet is just crazy I can't even set it on my desk while it charges with such a short cord and setting it under my desk on the floor is an obviously bad idea.

So I need to find an AC charger that is safe and won't blow up my a500 but at the same time is usable by anyone outside of the smurf community. Also if anyone has found decent car charger I would be interested in one of those as well. The only thing list on the Acer support site is an ac charger but surely there are 3rd party vehicle chargers out there.

I know I can google and search ebay and I have, what I am looking for is people who've already done the searching and actually have products they use and can verify work with their a500s.

Any help would be appreciated.

Acer has a new charger on it's online store. It has about 2ft longer. Cost 15.06 + shipping. Already have mine, it's a 18 watt also.

Awesome thanks. I saw that they had one that was supposedly 5 feet but I had my doubts. Why they would give us a 2 foot cord when they have 5 foot cords in stock is just crazy. But since you have one and it's indeed longer that's what I'll get.

I made my own car charger. I cut the end off the home charger and went to Radio Shack and bought a 2 amp cigarette charger and soldered the end on it. Works like a charm and if done right looks like a factory made unit. The plug the fits into your tablet is an exclusive to Acer special plug. I have searched a dn had no luck on finding a premade plug that fits it for power. I'm still experimenting to see if I can find one that will work so we don't have to mess with the factory power plug.

For the car, I use Radio Shack 270-048 Vehicle Adapter with a 273-324 Adaptaplug "G"
For the house, I use Radio Shack 273-358 12V/1500mA AC Adapter with the same Adaptaplug.

Unfortunately, I bought both before I could find other options.

My wife's A500, which I bought her for Christmas, came with the longer AC adapter. It's not fair because she's shorter than me!
