my droid eris charger cable is coming apart.

the cable part that connects to the phone side, the actual cable is exposing.

Is it covered through warranty.

Can i go to verizon and get an new cable from them.

Sweet, thanks. They are blocking all streaming sites here at work so I'm going to have to start using my phone to get pandora and such at the office and will probably need to charge during the day.

Be aware that the wall charger has a slightly modified plug because it provides more power than a USB cable. The different plug prevents it from being connected to standard USB devices and frying them. Charging will be much slower. I'm sure someone can tell us what the actual voltages are.

All USB connections (mini/micro/etc) are 5V. The USB connection from a computer is only capable of 500mA though (min spec is 100mA, I think). The stock charger does 1A and I've seen other chargers do anywhere from 500mA to 2A.

Does it matter? Yes, kinda. The way the phone charges, it will only draw as much power as it needs. Will a 5V/2A charger charge faster than a 5V/1A? Probably not.
