charger compatibility (milliamp, amp difference)

So before my eris i had a BB curve 8330 (its old, i know)

the plugs are compatible from BB to eris, so i still use my car charger, but the wall charger output matches voltage, but the one that came with the eris says 1A, the one from the BB says 750mA.

am i about to fry something? i can read an electrical diagram and solder something, but i dont understand electrical stuff.

I'm definitely not an expert on the subject but I believe you should be OK. I use a BB charger at work for my eris. I would be concerned if the numbers were reversed.

You'll be fine. It'll output similar voltage as a USB port from a computer, or from a charger in the wall.

I use a BB charger every day at work.

I'd use it, if it were me.

Having different amperages will most likely mean that the BB charger (750mA) will charge the target device slower than the Eris charger (1A). Everything will work just fine as long as you don't use a charger that can exceed the amperage that the target device is looking for.

Almost all computer USB ports put out 500mA.
