Help Charger Port

I have 2 Fascinate. Both may or may not charge when plugged it.
Since it was often quickly dead (after a full night on the charger) I took one to the Verizon store. They changed the battery (thinking it is not holding charge).

Later figured out the wiggling or better: actually pulling the charger connector 'up', or putting the plug on an edge connects the charger; but its hit or miss.

BOTH phones show the exact symptoms.

Both 2 different chargers: same or worse.

Taking the other phone to different store only answer: pay $50 and get replacement phone (now 10 month old; but symptoms started 6 months earlier).

Is this a know problem?

Any suggested DIY fix?

Call Verizon Wireless Technical Support. Since it is still within the 1 year warranty period, they should replace both of them for you. I was able to replace my wife's Fascinate with exact the same problem.

My son was at the store; they told him: $50 for replacement.

I went yesterday with phone and charger. Charger worked on their phone. They ship new phone free.

Instructed son to take charger and phone to different Verizon store to get new phone.

Time is running out on the 1 year warranty.
