Just to let everyone know if you intend to get a cheap charging cable for the galaxy s2, make sure it is a genuine cable. I ordered two (came in a bundle) on ebay for less than 3 bucks free shipping and they charge the phone soooo slowly it's unusable. When in use, say, listening to music while using a cheap cable the battery keeps draining. Even worse the usb connected message doesn't even pop up, so no data transfer at all... buy genuine cables please

A week ago I would have thought that this was nonsense but I have had a similar experience.
I bought a very cheap cable on eBay and although it charges my work BlackBerry fine it doesn't work at all on my SGS2. The plug also feels slightly too large and is a bit too firm a fit.
The good quality cable that came with my BlackBerry works perfectly well with my SGS2 so it doesn't have to be a Samsung cable, just a good quality one.
