Help Charging/Maybe Battery Problem?

Diathrane

Lurker
I'm having a problem with my Droid 3.

No lights blink in the LED.
only the motorola screen pops up and then shows 0% then it goes to 5% then shuts off and does nothing. and it wont charge or do anything. do i have to reset my phone?

I've tried using "X" and "M". I'm one step away from flashing the factory rom back onto the device just to see if it will help, but i don't know if it will.

any ideas?

You won't be able to do any of that unless the battery is charged, unless you have a "factory cable".

Factory style programming cable (for Motorola)

How/why to make your own Motorola "Factory Cable" (yeah, that's pretty ugly...)

Motorola Factory Cable | eBay

But, I agree with Thom - try another cable, or charger, or both. If that doesn't work, it's probably the battery. Search on Amazon for replacements for the BF5X battery. Here is the extended battery with the extended battery door (about 1 mm thicker than the standard door): Amazon.com: Motorola Droid 3 Oem Extended Battery Bf6x and Cover Door: Cell Phones & Accessories
