Help charging/not charging

HTC Legend, Phones says it's charging but doesn't unless I turn it off. Anyone else had similiar problems or know why.

Is the charging indicator in the notification bar inactive when the charger is plugged in?

I'd shut down the device, then wait about a minute, then turn it back on. Once fully booted up, I'd then plug in the cable to the wall charger (not USB as that is a very slow trickle charge on some devices).

If charging via USB that may be why it doesn't seem to charge. If the battery is very low it also may take some time before it seems to charge.

How long have you left it to charge before determining that it hasn't charged?

Thanks guys, I've come to the conclusion that it may be a faulty lead. Charging is ac not usb and all indicators show it is charging. Have noticed that it sometimes charges even when on which is making me think lead so will be getting new lead and try that.

Update on charging problem and yes it was a lead problem and now sorted.

I have a similar problem only worse, won't charge at all from wall, from USB on or off, decided it wasn't charging after 8 hours + of attempting to. any ideas?
