Charging Notification

Greetings! I am brand new to the Bionic...I've got it on the wall charger and it says charging on the phone but there is no notification light that glows red that it's charging. Just wondering if the Bionic is supposed to have this or not. When it was low on battery there was a light that flashed red at the top of the phone. Thanks!

At 10% it will put out an unmistakable message on the screen and request that you take action. If the screen is off at that time there will be no indication.

One often repeated strategy is that you should "condition" the battery on a new phone when you first get it. Charge it to 100% and then let it go to 0%. Charge to 100% again. Repeat at least three times.

The claim is that you will then get longer periods of usage.

Susyflower, if you are interested, I wrote an app for the Droid X for exactly this purpose--i.e., to light-up the notification LED to show you the state of the battery (charged, discharging, charging, low battery, etc.).

Its got a lot of features that I've added since our beloved Moderator, Steven58, suggested / inspired the app, but its basic function is to perform what the Droid X and apparently the Bionic lacks: letting you know when the battery has been charged.

Check it out...the app link should be in my signature (its free, by the way).

Cheers!

edit / P.S.: I don't know for sure how well it will work on the Bionic (since its a Moto device like the DX, I have high hopes)...if you do try it out, let me know. Thanks!

It should also be noted that, while charging, the lock screen shows the current charge percentage, so you can just power on to see if it is fully charged.

But, to specifically answer the question: no, the LED indicator does not light to show that the phone is charging or is charged.
