Help Charging phone while using GPS

How can I get my phone to charge while using my GPS? I have it attached to a charger in my vehicle. As soon as I use the GPS navigation, the phone quits charging even when it is plugged into the utility outlet. Once I exit navigation charging resumes. Please help!

What type of charger? How do you know it stops charging?

If it's a really weak charger, then the phone can use more power than the charger is adding, thus draining your battery.

You're going to need a better charger, as it's a metter of the phone using more power than your car charger is providing. Look for something that charges at a rate of 1 ampand you should be good to go.
