Help Charging while phone is off

I've searched for a few days now and cannot find any info. When the phone (droid) is off and then plugged into the wall charger the phone turns on again, is there a way to disable this? Drives me nuts in the middle of the night hearing the phone beeping from e-mails. Thanks for your help.

I don't know of an option to change this, why don't you just set it to silent when you go to bed?

It's possible, I just need to find the option...

I just put it in Airplane mode before I go to sleep (Hold the power button and select Airplane mode from the popup). I dont like how when I remove silent mode, it turns on the ringer, even though I had it set to vibrate when I entered silent mode.
