just recently, my tablet will not charge beyond 50% and that takes several hours. what is causing this andhow can i correct it?

thanks

Issues like this are usually associated with:

- an intermittent connection at the USB connection (check for dirt, foreign materiel, bent pins)
- a bad USB cable (try a different cable)
- a bad USB charger (try a different charger)
- a battery that's gone / going bad (how old is your device and is the battery removable?)

Is the back of the device (i.e., where the battery is) warm (or too warm) to the touch?

My 1st Tablet (Motorola Xyboard 10.1) had this problem & it got worse as time went on,to where it would not charge at all.
Process of elimination ruled out the cables & chargers.
Even though I bought it used from an e-Bay seller,I registered it with Motorola & good thing I did:
I figured why not try an RMA,worse case scenario that they deny it,but,to my surprise, they accepted the RMA,repaired it & returned within a two week time frame.
There may be some sort of recall/known issues with your particular tablet.
I'd contact the mfg &/or the seller (if retail or carrier,etc...) & see what your options are.
