Check here if you got the OTA update!

For those who got the update, can you post your:

Baeband version
Build number
Software number
(I think the Build number and Software number will be the same).

We can determine if the OTA is the same as the leaked RUU.

No OTA yet, but here's what I assume everyone is at before the OTA:

Baseband : 1.16.00.0223r
Build Number : 1.12.605.6 CL338893 release-keys
Software Number : 1.12.605.6

I didn't experience it initially either. Then after about a day I saw my phone reboot on my desk, it silenced the thunder sound during the boot animation as well. Was kind of weird, decided to revert back to stock until the OTA gets officially pushed.

Same exact thing happened to me the first day or so I was fine and now I have been getting random reboots about 2-3 times a day. If this were the case with the OTA verizon would not push it out since they are so picky about what they release.

So, is this just like a new firmware update, or is this the Gingerbread update? Is the Gingerbread update still supposed to come out in May/June?

Also, stupid question, but what does the "OTA" stand for?

Over the air. The only stupid question is one not asked :P That's what we're here for.

I have had the leaked OTA for 4 days and my phone has not randomly rebooted. i know they because i check my up and awake times occationally. I would know if it was rebooting in my pocket. So that theory is not true if you check. Second, yes we have the same phones but all of them are going to handle different setups differently.

How do you get the update if it wasn't sent to your phone yet? My fiance's phone doesnt have the update. Mine is rooted so I know I have nothing. Wondering about her's though...

I'm also getting the sense that the official non-leaked unrooted OTA has not been released yet. Otherwise we would have seen a ton of posts / threads by now.

This thread confuses folks.

The OTA update has not been released as yet, to anyone. There is only the leaked OTA update. This thread was supposed to be here when it starts being pushed out, but instead is causing confusion.

So do i have to unroot my phone to install the official update from verizon?
JFTR, there currently is no "official update from VZW".

All these folks have installed the unofficial ROM that was leaked by a developer. The official VZW OTA update, when it comes, will not "wipe" your phone during the installation. These unofficial leaked ROMs do wipe your phone. IOW, it'll be just like when you took it out of the box. You'll have to re-setup your email accounts, re-download and install all your apps, re-customize your screens, everything.

I think my wife got the OTA today she said it went to a boot screen for a bit and when it reloaded her phone was wiped.

I don't think they are the same, personally. The leaked update that is supposedly the OTA has a problem with random reboots. I doubt Verizon will push that update in that condition.

these people (rooters) are also flashing all kinds of kernals over/undervolted not to mention probably few to ANY are running unmolested stock odexed roms. Just because there are issues with rooters doesn't mean it will effect stock phones. BTW rooted custom rom and kernel, new radio update and no random reboots.

i agree, people you have to read things first. seeing A LOT of the same questions asked and answered over and over and over here. also turning into a "reboot" thread
