China Bought Android

A few days ago I bought a new Samsung galaxy s2 in a chinese market which was then rooted for me. Ive recently moved to Singapore and switched to Singtel with a data plan which works fine for me.

Im having an number of issues that i have spent countless hours on forums trying to resolve. Any help would be great.

Is there a way to completely reset my entire android system to a different stock system something like Singtel or anything other non chinese firmware? I would like to reset my system becuase im having countless errors. backing up is not an issue because my phone is so new I have no important data saved on the phone. Is there a way to comletely reinstall the firmware the galaxy s2 android?

Also, my phone is not connecting to odin in download mode. when the phone is on odin will detect it. how can I resolve this?

any help would be great

You should be able to switch to XXKG3 (for Europe) or a DZ code for Malaysia and Singapore with no problem.

As for Odin, it can be temperamental (with Windows7 for instance) and you may need to try another OS, like XP.

Hope this helps,

If Odin is being a bother then try what I did to fix it.

1. Completely uninstall any Samsung hardware and software from the computer. Reboot.
2. Download and install Samsung KIES software. Plug your phone into the computer and be patient while KIES updates itself and Win7 with correct drivers. It make take a few times plug/unplug the phone but KIES will eventually see the phone correctly and Win7 will have all the drivers installed.
3. Odin should now behave properly.
