Chipset Exynos 4412 Quad

The international exynos processor isn't compatible with the US lte modems. That's why the US versions have the dual core snapdragon processor and not the quad core.

I'd think that if you want a Exynos S3 the more reliable solution would be to buy one, rather than swap motherboards (probably not that cheap itself) and hope there are no differences in antenna design (or something else) that are serious enough to cause problems. If you think 1GB vs 2GB RAM is important, remember that you'll get the lower RAM if you swap motherboards.

Don't even ask about swapping processors on the same motherboard! ;)

What about the lte international version tho? Wouldn't that work with US carriers?

Im not even gona try n understand how the US carriers work mate but i think the internationals work with one of the carriers. Not sure about LTE working on the LTE version though

The i9305 supports LTE in the 800, 1800 and 2600 bands. That's all of the European/Asian LTE bands, but I don't think any of those are available in the States.

It also only supports one US 3G band (850), assuming GSMArena have the specs correct.

So it wouldn't be my choice for the USA. You'd do better with the non-LTE international version, which at least has 850 and 1900 3G bands (but no 1700).

These are completely different chipsets. There is no reason they would be compatible.

Search for teardowns of the Exynos and Qualcomm versions. The motherboard layouts are very different.

Right- you switch the mobo & you would basically have an international model & since they don't support US LTE, you're not any further ahead...
