Help Choosing contact type

I've read around the site that one should be able to choose a contact type (tied to an account) when creating a new contact. But whenever I create a new contact, it defaults to "Google contact," without any option to choose the native phone contact type. Any ideas what to do?

If all you have is the google account contact type then that is all it will let you choose. When I make a contact it asks me to choose between my google, youtube (for some reason), and my comcast account. You just may have to have other accounts on there, by creating more accounts through places like aol, msn, comcast or what ever. I am not sure if that helped or not.

Google is the native phone contact type.
