Choosing Gmail contact groups to sync in 2.1v2

After updating to 2.1v2 from 1.5 I cant find where you control which groups gets synced. When I go to People->Groups->Menu the option for 'Sync Groups' is missing. I have so many contacts in GMail, id prefer to only sync certain groups.

Missing for me too and has been for some time even before my upgrade to rooted 2.1

Also on this topic, I have stopped syncing google contacts altogether as I cannot STAND the pixelated overwritten pictures.

No one seems to have come up with a solution to the problem of contact pics ended up small due to sync.
