Help Choppy video

I'm finding that video I take on my Incredible 2 has become choppy on the playback, both when playing back on my phone or when I transfer to PC via Facebook or Dropbox. Anyway else see this?

I don't remember the frame rate on the camcorder on the Inc2, but it's not even 30fps, so it's going to be a bit choppy.

If you can set the resolution lower than the highest it should reduce chopping. Also, if theSD card transfer rating is lower it can have an effect on video quality. I don't know specific numbers, but I would bet that a class 2 card would not be up to snuff.and I'm sure a class ten would be.

SD card speed wouldn't explain it still beng choppy after transferring to PC or Facebook.

Yeah, that's a good point. I don't think that's the issue, though. The frame rate of the Inc2's camcorder just isn't very good. This isn't my video, but it is fairly representative of the quality I get.

I get the same. Less movement on the screen makes for smoother video (hold the camera still when there is no motion in the field of vision and it's REAL smooth, haha) and reducing the resolution does a little too. But you're right, the frame rate just isn't that great.

Definitely looks like you dropped some frames there. In between the sections where some frames were dropped it looks pretty standard.

Here is what I am seeing. This one was pretty bad and it was quite cold out, not sure if that would have an impact. I've seen it on other videos as well but none quite this bad.

mine does this same crap!! always freezes for a sec then goes, it really makes me think that this phone is junk and wish i never got it 6 months ago!!!

and from all the reading i have been doing, the only way to fix this is to buy a different phone im afraid :(

I think the stock sdcard is a class 4. It may not be able to keep up with the frame rate.

It should be pretty easy to figure out what class card you need. Shoot some video and see how big the file is. Do the math to determine what that translates to in MB/s. If that number is <4 MB/s, then the stock card should be just fine.

EDIT: Just went to look at one of the videos I shot. It is 2:04 long and ~46MB. That works out to about 0.36 MB/s, way less than the SD card can easily handle. Don't think that's the issue....

ok i shot a 4:11 long video is 720p and the file size is 240mb

im guessing you did not film yours in 720p?

i found the 16 gig class 10 cards on ebay for $20, si i think im gonna try one to see if it helps this crap out

Apparently I didn't.

Even with your results, that's still less than 1 MB/s, well below the 4 MB/s threshold of the included card. I would not expect improved results with a Class 10 card.
