Hi. New to the website, hope this is posted in the correct forum.
Over the past few months my Google Chrome app has had ridiculous spikes in single day usage of about 100-200MB, multiple times a month.
It started on my Galaxy Nexus, but I got a Nexus 5 shortly after and the problem has been occurring on it as well (I let everything import when I got the new phone). Last week (on my Nexus 5), I uninstalled Chrome to the phone's default version but it happened again on Friday; 184 MB on Google Chrome app. I'm hitting my cap about 3 weeks into the month.
I thought this was happening because I was always leaving multiple tabs open on my phone and they would load every time I opened the app, but even after closing all tabs after each use, it still has another large data leak.
I'm honestly not using that much data. The first time this happened was on a day that I was driving all day.
I'm seeking troubleshooting suggestions. Could I have malware on my phone?
