Lurker
Hopefully this is the right place, anyway I live in Canada just got my New Nexus 7 and a Chromecast but playstore will not let me download the app in my country which makes Chromecast kind of useless which makes me really pissed. Anybody have any suggestions on a work around.

I havent heard of chromecast having geographical limitations tbh. Did you buy it in canada? Does your youtube app recognise it and give you the Cast button?
P.s. what is the app called?

It may have geographic restrictions on it, possibly to keep Hollywood and the MPAA happy, e.g. no unauthorised streaming and use outside of the United States. When I look at buying a Chromecast, it's always directed to sites in the United States, like Best Buy. I can't download the Chromecast app from Play, it's saying not available in your country(China). The app is called "Chromecast", published by Google Inc.

As I said I bought the Nexus 7 2nd gen and Chromecast in the states. The problem appears to be with google playstore as I am in Canada it will not allow me to download the app from the playstore and if I direct Chrome browser to the setup url for the Chromecast and try and install it that way it says not available in your country sooo, it would appear Chromecast app will not work for anybody who does not have a US based playstore account. This really sucks. All I wanted to do is watch a youtube video on my TV but Google US says no I cant.

Question....can i not get the chrome extension so my S3 can "cast" a webpage from my phone?

I go to the site and it says your operating system is not supported yet. Says the same thing on my ipad
