Root CID and CM7

I tried it for about five minutes last night, then realised that my texts were not backed up, so may try again. Not sure what more it brings me though.

Oops, I seem to have installed ENG S-OFF.

The HTC splash screen bothers me when rebooting in dark rooms. Far too bright!

I am on Absolution now, but having restored ADW Launcher Ex using Titanium backup it all looks much the same. Not sure what extra twiddly benefits I am getting...

Later: found the interesting tinkering menu... Ad blocking, 220 DPI and undervolting anyone?

Careful with the undervolting, each handset handles it differently.

Also, careful with the 220DPI too, if you mess aroound with that, certain apps might not appear on the market as it thinks they're incompatible with your device.

Ah yes:

"Boot to recovery and flash /sdcard/resetuv/reset.zip"

Thanks. I think I had read that ages ago and completely forgotten about it. Moved to "Standard Undervolt" now.

I really like Absolution with ADW Launcher EX (I got it for 10p when the market hit 10 billion). Good combination.

Now, if only the stock messaging application had bubbles :) I use pansi SMS but would love to be able to have a bubble one as the standard. I imagine that is hackable too. When I get the time :p

Yeah, I picked up ADW at the same time too, cracking deal. :)

Which version of Absolution are you running? 3.6 has its own undervolt in the absolution tools menu. Also which kernel are you using?

Oh and Go SMS ;)

3.6 and am using the menu with the undervolting settings. The kernel would be the "stock" kernel with this ROM which looks like:

2.6.35.14-AbsolutionACE-v0.1.4-CFS
ctindall@ct-flapptopp #12

Cool, I've only recently flashed the updated version, I've been on 3.1 for ages :o.

I actually found battery life better with LorDmods kernel, rather than the stock kernel. If you use LordMods, be sure to deactivate all OC profiles and any undervolting you have with the Absolution app, then use CPU settings with Cyanogen and the Lordmod UV app he's linked in his thread.

Otherwise, you're fine to use the Absolution app for everything.
