Root CIQ removal w/Logging TestApp on orig Droid??

jetman

Newbie
I have an original Droid (Verizon) I rooted awhile ago using the Smoked Glass ROM. I've been reading about the CIQ mess and want to try and run the Logging TestApp Pro to make sure I don't have it on my phone but have read about some phones that are bricked trying this process. Before I download and run it I wanted to know if anyone here has tried it or had any success removing it???

anyone??

The Original DROID does not have it, and VZW has already said that they do not use Carrier IQ's reporting service to begin with.

An easier method would be to use Any Cut and look for IQ agetns in the stream, but since The DROID is Vanilla Android, I'm doubting that you'll find anything.

Even my BIONIC, which purportedly has a file that is suspicious enough to warrant investigation, has been reported to have no IQ Agents on it.

I'm pretty positive that you don't need to do anything else.

^^^ Agreed. I remember when this CIQ came out over a year ago and we were told which files to look for and where on the phone. They do not exist on the A855.

On the other hand, every cell phone that could be activated since about 02/2007 _must_ have a GPS chip in it, but that doesn't mean that Big Brother has enough resources to pay attention to every single one of us. It's mainly to be able to go back and track the bad boys. So if you are being a 'bad boy' then I would worry a tiny bit.
