City ID like program??

I couldn't help but notice that caller state information isn't included in our Stock ROMs. This feature was pretty awesome on my touch pro2 and various other phones. Is there any program from the market or a ripped version of City ID from any of verizon's Android phones that will work with ours?

How about just handling area codes?

If I dial a local contact, no area code, it shows up in my call list by number - not by contact name.

Pet peeve.

i heard city id from verizon sucks cuz its a trial version then u gotta pay subscription to use it

Damn, that does suck.

Anybody up for this programming task? :) Nothing I saw on the app market appealed to me. It just needs to be simple, unobtrusive, and integrated well with the dialer. Outgoing, Incoming, Current, and Missed Calls are a must.

Nice find, but doesn't seem to work in the call history. It only shows the city when the phone is actually ringing. Unless I'm doing something wrong, which isn't out of the realm of possibility.

Doesn't show any information on an outgoing call either. But hey, i'll take what I can get I suppose. None of my other phones showed any city information when in call history either so i'm pretty much exactly where I was with my touch pro2, with the exception of outgoing city information. Maybe someone will improve upon this idea. I find it kind of odd that more people aren't interested in this, considering it is available on almost all flip phones on Sprint.

Yeah, I always took that feature for granted on my iPhone. It actually shows in the call history as well. I'm sure someone will come up with something though.
