classic droid vs eris

Background: My coworker bought an Eris because be felt the droid's negatives were too numerous to justify owning one. In addition this coworker knows everything about everything. Yesterday I stopped in to his office and picked up his Eris just to look. We got to talking about Google maps. He said he wished it had voice navigation. So naturally I said mine does. "Yeah but you pay extra for that." Nope...let me show you. "Well GPS and connectivity are down...you cant get the maps." Hmmm, let's see. 4 bars, full GPS, map loaded, and I proceded to demonstrate navigation! He didn't know what was up with his phone and had tried restarting.

I LOVE MY DROID --- even with its "negatives"!
 
Your friend doesn't know crap then. I have an Eris and have Google Maps Voice Navigation. Tell him to get off his duff and load the 2.1 operating system already...it's been released twice already!
 
If by "negatives" he meant "has more features" and/or "rocks my socks" then he's absolutely correct.

If not he's dumb and you should laugh at him everytime he uses his Eris.
 
I really don't know what negatives he's so worried about... better battery life? Bigger screen? Better reception? More features? Physical keyboard? I could go on :D
 
Well another coworker had got a droid but didn't like it because it was heavy, and required too much of her time. She traded in for an eris. This know-it-all coworker used that opinion plus the 'cons' from general reviews to form his opinion.

Funny thing was when I got my droid he started spewing off the cons like they were gospel.

And no, I typically don't listen to him. I do like to get him going in heated debates, though.
 
You people forgot about the biggest advantage….. the trademark “DROID” ringtone.
Imagine what “ERIS” would sound like.
One of my co-workers has a Blackberry. It is a real PIA when trying to sync with our VPN. Always giving him issues and he has to enter a code every time the phone goes into sleep mode. Try doing that while driving. Meanwhile, it took less than 60 seconds to set up the Droid on the network. Syncs perfectly (email, contacts, calendar).
Being the gracious person I am, I play the “DROID” whenever I hear him having issues. (That’s what I like about me.)

That seriously made me lol. I don't want to imagine a world where peoples phones say ERIS when they get a notification >.
